You don’t get to speak with queens everyday and when you are lucky to, you are never disappointed.
So was my case with Miss Afro Tourism and Culture 2015, Miss Irene Konlan. Miss Konlan can be described as the girl from a humble beginning who is making a great change in her society.
From Bunkpurugu in the Northern Region, she had her basic and junior high education there in Bunkpurugu and later moved to Jema Senior High School in the Brong Ahafo Region where she studied Home Economics. She is currently in her final year in Tamale Technical University reading Hospitality and Tourism Management. She wasn’t surprised when she emerged winner in the Miss Afro Tourism and Culture because she believes in herself and what she can do.
She’s been on a couple of runways including Vlisco fashion show, Accra Fashion carnivals and the Berlinda Baidoo Model Search Africa ( BBMSA). In addition, she took part in the The Diplomax Runway show which is an international show.
With her great passion to touch lives, she founded a non profit charity organization the Irene Konlan Foundation which is teaches the youth to love their natural skin and preaches against skin bleaching in the 3 northern regions, supported by Ama K Abrebrese.
Commendably, Miss Irene Konlan is able to combine her modeling career with its fashion shows with her education as well as having fun with her family and friends.
