RTU edge closer to premier league return

Real_Tamale_United_logoReal Tamale United have moved an inch closer to a return to the Ghana Premier League after an impressive 2-1 victory in faraway Mpuasuman to climb to the top of the GN Bank Division One League Zone One League log.

The Blues beat Brong Ahafo based Mpuasuman by two goals to one in Match Day 27 of the DOL in faraway Mpuasuman on Sunday, a result which saw them topple Mighty Royals to go top of the league table.

The Tamale based side is now four points clear off second placed Mighty Royals who still have an unresolved case with Bawku United at the disciplinary committee of the Ghana Football Association.

RTU were relegated from the Ghana Premier League in the 2012/2013 season after a poorly finishing 16th with six (6) points out of a possible 90.

Since then the club has struggled to qualify for the elite league.

With just three matches to end the 2015/2016 Division One League season, RTU’s sterling performance could see them qualify for the league if they avoid defeat in the remainder of their matches.
